A concise visitor information leaflet has been drawn together to provide visitors to the area with enough background knowledge to enjoy, understand, appreciate and navigate the surroundings.
We are actively renewing interpretation in the area to make it more appealing to a wider audience and are bringing it into the Old newcastle visitor brand which is similar in nature to other Newcastle visitor publications and therefore easily identifiable.
The Partnership has appointed a Project Manager to lead on the Old Newcastle HLF-funded project. Her role is to ensure that the project creates an engaging and sustainable heritage resource for the City, which inspires both visitors and local people to learn about and actively enjoy their heritage. As well as overseeing the development and installation of new interpretation in the Black Gate and Castle Keep, the Project Manager will be working alongside the Project's Learning Officer to deliver a vibrant sent of events and activities and to work with the community and education groups in bringing this part of Old Newcastle to life.
